I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Finished paper 4 for geography. Again very easy no worries guys.
it wasnt easy. it was hard
How can I get more sample question paper for the latest pattern for listening. Can anyone kindly suggest what can be done to prepare students well for this challenge.
Hey guys.. Can anyone suggest a good website for physics notes….especially about thermal physics and electricity and magnetism .????. Help please……. Thanks
Please!

Use this website and thank me later…. 🙂
I have summarized each chapter for you
Electromagnetic induction is generating electricity from a magnetic field.
It generates an alternating current.
The greatest current is produced when the rectangular coil is right angle to the magnetic field as it cut across the field lines at the greatest rate.

Guys for Chem P11, what was the answer for:
1. the reversible reaction of cobalt chloride…. I know it turns pink, but does the temperature increase, or decrease?
2. the question on the steel manufacturing, do you need heat also, apart from calcium oxide and oxygen?
For P31,
3. What was the answer for the reagent needed to displace ethylamine from ethylammonium chloride?
1. i said that the temp decreases, not sure if I’m right
2.i said you need all 3
3. NaOH or any alkali (because alkalis displace ammonia from ammonium salts and ethylamine behaves like ammonia)
Temperature decreases because it’s an endothermic reaction.
All three to break down lime and it’s hot air that’s blown.
I wrote NaOH
Haha @Onoku I did the same 😛
The temperature increases. Other 2 are correct imo
that is correct
For the reversible I said temperature increases because forward reaction was endothermic so backward is exothermic
For the steel manufacturing I said no heat needed because if heat was needed they would’ve added calcium carbonate and let it decompose as in the blast furnace however they added calcium oxide.
And the third question was Sodium hydroxide or any other strong alkali !
What did you say?
i said decrease too
but i said oxygen only
and i wrote sodium hydroxide
i said decrease because steam is given off in forward reaction, so backward reaction is decrease.
I put the exact same thing, hope we are right…
i think u are talking about paper 12 , yes its turns pink and temp decreases, in steel manufacturing u need alll three yes heat limestone and oxygen are needed but paper 31 i didnt do it i did paper 32
no this question was also in 11 there are some questions that r same in the vareint y’know!
I said increases since bond forming is exothermic and plus, this thing was mentioned in Complete Chemistry too.
For steel manufacturing, I wrote all three but that’s probably wrong because my friends said in the basic oxygen furnace there’s no need of heat since we’re introducing cooled oxygen, but it was my theory that if they call it a furnace there should be heat, I may be wrong.
For ethylammonium, that question came in 2012 too, you simply have to write any strong base like NaOH, or I wrote, KOH. Because it was like ammonia so if we have to release ammonia from ammonium chloride for example, so we react it with a strong base. 🙂
I did DECREASE too!!!
It should be increase, cuz its exothermic….
I’m pretty sure I’m right
Temperature definitely increases because it is an exothermic reaction. Sorry onoko but its proven.
yes you need heat
for steel heat is not needed
the temperature increases because bond was formed
regarding steel manufacture question it was a repeated one and yu require all three
im not sure about the third one but i think it was NaOH
heat is needed!
and the temperature increases..
1. Heat is 100% released as heat is given INTO the first reaction, which means its endothermic. Thus, the reverse is exo.
2. Both is needed
2. *All 3 is needed, sorry 😛
Dear IGCSE centre team,
Regarding Travel and tourism (0471) it seems that you did not upload the 2014 papers. May i know if you are going to anytime soon ?
Hello Abdullah,
It won’t be so soon. As we haven’t gotten them yet.
