No, you don’t be penalised for exceeding the wordings. If you have produced a well-balanced and fully developed writing, this in fact would give you an advantage in terms of content marks.

Hey guys. Maths paper 42 was a really hard paper. All my preparation and time I’ve out into this feels like it was just thrown outta the window. I don’t get why they publish an easy specimen paper and then when you’re up against the real deal they screw you over. :/ As one of my teachers would say this was “Cambridge down with the kids!”
Although it gives a slight relief to see that most people found it challenging and hard. If the results will be lover than the average threshold then everyone should have a good chance to get a decent grade compared to the paper.
Keep up the optimism! Most of us still have exams to attend and don’t let this “shocker” math paper 42 get in your way! All the best to everyone! 😉

Math paper 42 was such a psychological troma …. like almost 60% of the candidates in my room ( out of more than 200) were crying after the exam..
As you mentioned the specimen paper was soo easy and it was the last paper I did before the exam with 2 hours and it really got me up but when i received the paper….. I was totally shocked …..
But this should make no effect on the rest of the papers..
