I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Good Day IGCSE Team.
May i know the difference between English as a Second Language component 0510 and 0511 and is ESL 0511 even adding the speaking marks with the reading and writing and listening paper.
Thank you
VKV
Hi there,
Cambridge English as a Second Language (0510) is the same as English as a Second Language (0511), except for the speaking component.
In English as a Second Language (0510), the marks for the speaking component do not contribute to the overall grade candidates receive for the written components. In English as a Second Language (0511), the marks for the speaking component contribute to the overall grade.
We hope this helps!
It was very helpful Thank you
Hi Anand,
You are very much welcome! If you need any assistance, please feel free to write to us. Thank you!
Hi,
Is there a word limit for literature in English(0475)? Can you write as much as you want within the time limit or it’s the best to write fixed length only? And what is that fixed length(maybe varies for different papers)?
Thank you
Hi Candy Dream,
There’s no word limit for Literature in English (0475). Our suggestion is to divide your time well during the exams.
TIP: The most successful responses focused on the keywords in the question remained focused and supported ideas with concise quotations, which were analysed thoroughly.
We hope this helps!
Good Day IGCSE Team
I am actually writing 4 subjects which are English Second Language, Mathematics, Computer Science and Accounting this year. i had no accounting classes for the past 1 month and i don’t know what to do as i have only 1 week left for my exams to start. My accounting exam is on the 28th of October. Could you please advise me on how to go through the topics for accounting within this 6 weeks time.
Thank you
VVK
Hi VVK,
Here are some Accounting revision tips:
You need to learn and understand the key concepts and formulas first. The Accounting textbook can help you with this. Once you familiarise with/memorise the key equations/formulas, you can start practising with past exam papers.
Try solving a problem with the formula without looking it up. You MUST do this as many times as you can. You will be able to remember the formulas/key equations better when you repeat this step.
Furthermore, you must develop greater analytical skills and extract information from scenarios to make your answers relevant.
Lastly, we cannot emphasise more the importance of practising past exam papers. You need to practice, practice, and practice.
We hope this helps! Good luck!
Dear Igcse Team,
Lately I have been pressurized by my parents to study a lot for my exams next year May/June.They kept on saying the same things that they studied harder than me when they were my age etc etc. Most of these days,I study till late at night and I get really little sleep like 5 to 6 hours per day. This has had a really bad effect on me:I could even relax or take a little break.I have eyebags under my eyes and I am tired of crying in frustation. What should I do?Any advice helps.
Hi Nicole,
We are very sorry to hear about your situation.
First of all, take a deep breath and relax. Remember that you are you’re all good, just as you are.
Please take care of yourself and develop healthy study habits. Working too late is unlikely to be productive, and it is better to study consistently than pulling all-nighters. Having goals is great, but if you put heaps of pressure on yourself, you’ll probably feel stressed.
Lastly, please read this article: https://www.skolatis.com/how-to-handle-your-stress-when-exam-is-approaching/. This article is extremely helpful to reduce your stress.
Thank you Igcse Team..my life has been the same since then..hopefully i can convince my parents to allow me to follow this.
Hi Nicole,
Balancing your parents’ expectations with your own can be tricky. If you’re really struggling, talk to another trusted adult or friend and get their take on it.
We are rooting for you!
