When will IGCSE results be out? Usually results will be released in August for June series, and in January for November series. Whereas for March series, result usually is released in May.

How are grades reported on results?
Syllabus grades for all examination types are reported on the Statements of Results as an upper case letter followed by the corresponding lower case letter in brackets, e.g. B(b). This format is used as a security feature to prevent grades being altered by hand.
What does ‘NO RESULT’ mean?
‘NO RESULT’ or ‘X’ means one of the following:
- CIE was notified that the candidate was absent or withdrawn from one or more components of the exam. The candidate is therefore not eligible for the award of a grade.
- CIE was not notified that the candidate was absent or withdrawn. There is also no record of their mark in one or more components of the exam. The candidate is therefore not eligible for the award of a grade.
- CIE disqualified the candidate. Where this is the case CIE will have sent a separate communication to the Centre explaining the reasons for the disqualification.

What does ‘PENDING’ or ‘Q’ mean?
For each qualification, ‘PENDING’ or ‘Q’ indicates that a result cannot be issued at present but will follow in due course.
What does ‘UNGRADED’ mean?
‘UNGRADED’ indicates that the student has failed to reach the standard required for grade G(g). ‘UNGRADED’ will be reported on the Statement of Results but not on the certificate.
What does ‘TO BE ISSUED’ or ‘Y’ mean?
For some Cambridge IGCSE syllabuses, ‘TO BE ISSUED’ or ‘Y’ indicates that the result will be awarded in a subsequent series.
For example:
If you sat for the exam in the June series, you will get your result in the November series.
How are Cambridge IGCSE language syllabuses results reported?
For some language syllabuses, separate oral endorsement grades are reported on a scale of 1 (ONE) to 5 (FIVE). With 1 (ONE) being the highest and 5 (FIVE) the lowest.
Candidates who fail to reach the standard required for grade 5 (FIVE) will have nothing reported on the statements of results.
How are Cambridge ICE group award results reported?
The Cambridge ICE group award result will be reported on IGCSE Statements of Results for students who satisfy the ICE award rules as follow:
- Cambridge ICE statements of results are issued to candidates who have entered for Cambridge ICE.
- Distinction, Merit and Pass are awarded to candidates who meet the requirements of Cambridge ICE.
- The statement of results shows the Cambridge ICE outcome and the individual syllabus results for Cambridge IGCSE and Cambridge O Level syllabuses.
- Only individual syllabus results for the final series are reports on statements of results. Therefore if a candidate is taking Cambridge ICE over more than one series, not all of the counting syllabuses used to determine the Cambridge ICE award are reported on the statement of results.
You will find details of the award rules for the Cambridge ICE group award in the Cambridge Guide to Making Entries, which is available from the ‘Support Materials’ section of CIE Direct. (Learn more about Cambridge ICE group award in this post.)

I know that the grades depend on the threshold but I don’t understand uniform based marks. Can you please clarify this for me.
So if I get say 150 out of 200 and the grade threshold says you need 145 to 160 to get an A so that means I get an A right?
So what do the uniform based marks have to do with this?
thank you for such having this helpful website IGCSE
Hello there,
You are very much welcome. We’re more than glad to assist you.
With regards to your question, yes, grade threshold is the minimum number of marks that a candidate needs to obtain a particular grade in a paper or in a subject.
On the other hand, Percentage Uniform Mark is the number shown in a bracket in your statement of results. It is a point on a common scale for all syllabuses to show whether the candidate’s performance is close to the top, middle or bottom of the grade. For example, a student who gets the minimum mark necessary for a Grade A* obtains a percentage uniform mark of 90. A student who gets a mark halfway between the Grade D threshold and Grade C threshold achieves a percentage uniform mark of 55.
Hope this helps.
if i score 127 out of 160 marks in any subject, then will it be a grade. i know it depends on percentile. i am extremly worried about it. according to my friends the physics paper was easy. just let me know are there any chances of scoring a grade
A GRADE.
Hello Atharv,
We can’t speculate that. Every year, the exam questions have slight differences on the level of difficulty. In order to provide equivalent A* achieving chance, the threshold is used to determine the grades for that year. These thresholds are decided after each examination has been taken and marked. The aim in each year (or examination series) is to set each threshold in just the right place to ensure that it is no more difficult and no less difficult to obtain that grade than it was in the previous year.
actually I got f in chemistry and physics and g in biology so can I know whether it’s considered as a pass or a fail?
Hello Nimra,
“F” and “G” are considered pass. However, if you plan to further your studies, you must get confirmation from respective schools/colleges/universities on this matter. Each school/college/university has its own entry requirement.
How can I get my pending results?
Hi Rida,
Kindly contact your school/exam centre for follow up.
Hello
I have a question
What if my (TIME)values and my friends value for chemistry lab the practical are the same ?
Hi Musas,
What is important is you record readings using suitable accuracy.
I got
F in Math core is it pass or fail?
F in ECNOMICS extended Igcse is it fail or pass
C in O level Arabic
G in IGCSE chemistry extended is it pass or fail?
I got E in Information technology and E in English is it pass or fail?
UNGRADED in biology Igcse
Hello Raneem,
Thank you for writing in.
Grades “C” to “G” are considered pass. However, if you plan to further your studies, you must get confirmation from respective schools/colleges/universities on this matter. Each school/college/university has its own entry requirements.
On the other hand, “UNGRADED” means you were not able to reach the standard required for a pass. If Biology is required for your further studies, we suggest that you retake this subject.
