  1. Hello,

I’m an international student from Germany currently researching and self-studying the IGCSE. I’m hoping to move to the UK before the next summer rolls around and am, thanks to a previous academic flop, considering taking the IGCSE in Germany as a private student before moving.

Have you any resources on if private students can take these exams at Cambridge schools whenever, or if we also must stick to the few exam windows per year? I’m sadly not quite ready yet academically to make it for the November tests, but I’d like to get my certification before March.

    Regards,
    Jeremy

    1. Hello Jeremy,

      Thank you for writing in.

All schooled and private candidates follow the same exam schedule. Every year there are two examination series – June series and November series.

You might want to check out our A* Subscription Courses to help you with your exam preparations. It has all the resources you need and it comes with the bespoke A* guarantee. Have a read at this page, to learn how it works: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/.

    1. Dear Wong,

      Thank you for writing in.

First of all, we would like to clarify that we are not affiliated with any learning centres in Malaysia who claim to be affiliated with us, or use our site name IGCSE Centre for false marketing purposes and to create confusion for visitors.

To help you further understand, here are our suggestions:

      1. If you are referring to a school licence, you may check the registered Cambridge schools here: https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/i-want-to/find-a-cambridge-school/

      2. If you are referring to the registered Cambridge schools in your local area, the only way to find out is to visit the schools and get the list from them. If you are referring to our past A* candidates, they are all published on our website here: https://igcsecentre.com, on the right sidebar section.

      3. Unfortunately we do not have this information. You may have to check on each registered Cambridge school’s website for information on the fees. If you are interested to find out about our A* online courses and programme, they are ranging around £75/month.

      We hope this helps.

    1. Hi Taksheel,

Yes, you are right. But we still suggest that you confirm this with your school/exam centre. Thank you.

  3. I wanted a helpful advice regarding CAIE exams.I’m an O2(grade11) student..should i go with grade prediction or reg myself for Oct/Nov series..? Since my term progress was quite weak and grade prediction won’t gain me an A* unlike winter session…But the problem is many are saying it will be very hard to handle A levels with igcse/o levels…and A levels is really important and hard..

    1. Hello Maryam,

We suggest that you register for the November exam series. In this way, your certificate will reflect your true capability as well as a proper qualification for your future.

But we do suggest not to register for both IGCSE and AS Level in the same examination series, separating them out would be more manageable. Take IGCSE in the November series, then A Level in the 2022 series. Giving yourself enough time to prepare is also one of the essential keys to score well in the exam.

You may want to consider taking our world-renowned A* courses. We are now offering A* guarantee for selected subjects. Follow our course guidelines diligently and you will have less stress worrying with your exam preparations. Please find out more here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/

If you need further assistance, feel free to write to us.

  5. Hi, I recently appeared for the feb/ march 2020 series igcse examinations, and so just had a doubt whether the results would be postponed due to the COVID-19 Outbreak.

    1. Hello Adi,

Upon checking CAIE’s website, it will go ahead as planned and provisional results will be available on 19 May 2020. Please kindly confirm this with your school/exam centre. Thank you.

  6. Dear IGCSE Centre,
Thank you for your corporation. I have some concerns regarding the IGCSE May/June 2020 exam series.
Cambridge has informed me through their website that IGCSE May/June 2020 exams have cancelled this year because of COVID-19 (Corona virus). If I withdraw my money from IG May/June exams, re-register for the October/November series and my result come out mid January, how and when will I register for Grade 11 (A – level) because schools will be starting near September? Will I register for Grade 11 near February then?

    1. Hello there,

We suggest that you write to the schools directly and ask them what will happen to their admission process. We believe that they will also make the necessary adjustments to adapt to changes brought by the COVID outbreak.

We hope that this major disruption did not cause you to lose your motivation to study. We assure you that we are here to provide support to all candidates while most of the schools are closed. We have many resources that can help you with your exam preparations.

You may also consider enrolling to our online Revision Course here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/. We also offer school subscriptions and your school can subscribe to us. You may want to forward this form to your school to apply: https://forms.gle/7CKFvLS5ZVpcz7GH8. Please note that this form should be filled by a person in charge who could make a decision for payment.

      1. OK, thank you. But is it better to enroll myself into October/November series instead of the May/June or should I wait for the school to open and then give the school exams?

          1. Hi,

Please kindly see our reply. If you have further questions, feel free to write to us.

        1. Hi again,

Looking at the recent developments, it will be better for you to sit for the November exam series. There’s also a chance that syllabuses that are currently only available in the June series will be available in the upcoming November series.

Please kindly refer to the key registration dates here here: https://www.skolatis.com/exam-registration-dates/. Your school/exam centre will help you in the withdrawal and re-entry process.

  7. Hi,
Just read the latest announcement about May/June exams.
Just wanted to know since they have said it is cancelled is there any way they can suddenly bring it back.

    1. Hello Yash,

We have to wait for CAIE’s announcement. If you’re concerned about the unfairness of grading, we suggest you write to CAIE and address this issue. Many parents and students have addressed this concern with us.

In order to ensure that you obtain a proper certification, we suggest that you withdraw from the June examination and re-enter in the November series.
