I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

dear IGCSE team,,
in the listening exam in English as a second language , the first question stated ” write from 2 to 3 words” and unfortunately i didn’t notice this sentence hence writing a full answer in the space provided , nearly 5 words , will i be deducted from every question or just one mark for not sticking to word limit??
Hi Sara,
If this only happened in one question, then only one part will lose the mark. Not all. Don’t worry 🙂
Hi u have done extended paper English as second language
Hey guys
plzz reply
in the business paper11 there was a question of promotion so
whay did u all write was it the advertising all or sales promotion
or both r ok ???
YEH!! I wrote the same , so long as u explained each and recommended one of them !!
I don’t remember exactly what I wrote but methods of advertising is one point (MS always says that). and I think the other was give sample haircut for free to attract brand loyal customers and I forgot if there was another one lol
fOR Chemistry I need help: How do u increase the voltage of the cell in Electrolysis???
use metals that are further apart in the reactivity series as electrodes
Use a more reactive metal for the electrode
using a more reactive metal
make solution more concentrated
use electrode made from metals farther away in the reactivity series
use a more reactive metal
Use a stronger battery
you usually use a machine like an electronic battery – the ones used for the chem labs
by increasing the diff. between elements
You use one reactive metal and one much less reactive metal. Also you could increase the concentration of the electrolyte. Good luck for Monday D:
the metals used as electrodes should be further apart in the reactivity series. Like replacing magnesium instead of zinc
the two different electrodes used must be as far apart as possible in the reactivity series. For example, the voltage produced by using a magnesium and copper electrode will be more than the voltage produced by using a zinc and copper electrode.
Hope this helps
Thanks a lot and best regards ,
use more batteries
Simple.Increase the reactivity between the electrodes, a higher difference in reactivity means a greater potential difference or voltage flowing from the negative electrode to the positive one.
Use more reactive electrode
Use electrolyte of more concentration
I think you are a bit confused there is a difference between electrolysis and a cell.
Electrolysis is the breaking down of a substance using electricity while a cell is 2 different metals in an electrolyte whereby the chemical reactions bring about electricity (provide energy).
Therefor in the cell the voltage cam be increased by using metals which are further apart in the reactivity series.
Hope it helped and good luck!
i was gonna tell him the same thing!
thanks maria!
If you are talking about an electrochemical cell/battery, then you have to use metals which are farther apart in the reactivity series. If you are referring to electrolysis then you just use a stronger battery/add more batteries.
Thanks a lot people……………………………….
and also increasing the concentration of the acid
by using a more reactive metal like magnesium instead of zinc as greater the difference in reactivity b/w two metal greater the voltage
then using a more concentrated acid
Hi IGCSE team for the english paper 2 will they mark down my language marks for question 1 if i didn’t answer the 3rd bullet point correctly?I didn’t read the question properly and wrote stuff that was not related to the question D:
Any tips for physics on wednesday?
Be very confident and super cocky, you will do well in each physics test.
Thanks, great advice ! Definitely gonna be “SUPERCOCKY”.
