I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Any tips for Science (Combined) Practical?
Dear IGCSE centre,
Thanks for you support
I have done 5 subjects in May/June 15 and scored all A*s, I still have 2 subjects for my Oct/Nov. Well I think my A*s gave me some confidence and as a result I didn’t study really hard in my summer vacation! Now am struggling am not able to solve and getting grades not like I want to score! I want your help and some tips! Stress is killing me overhere as I want to score both A*. Helppp exams are so sooonnn ??
Hi Noor,
You are just giving yourself the pressure. Just know that you can score A* again. Keep practising the papers.
Dear IGCSE Centre,
I am really stuck in choosing between Child Psychology or Architecture for collage. And It’s a HUGE problem because each thing needs the opposite subjects in A Level!!!
I feel really stressed out.
I am right now taking Physics, mathematics and chemistry. Though architecture doesn’t need chemistry. I am very confused though.
I got in my IGCSE 2 As in physics and maths and 2 A* in Biology and chemistry which made me even more stuck because I love both physics math and bio chem.
I really don’t know what to do. What do you recommend me to do?
It is very unclear where I will study in collage so I don’t know where to search for requirements and stuff.
If I want to study Child Psychology, what subjects do I need? In IGCSE I sat for English and ICT (B in both) and chem bio (A* both) and phy and math (A both)
Is there any other subject in IGCSE i need to sit for to study Psychology?
(sorry i talk a lot
Hello Dania,
Your current chosen subjects for A-Level are fine: Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry. You are “missing” English though. 🙂
For Psychology, you need to take Sociology. We can suggest you to do self-study of IGCSE Sociology while you’re starting your A-Level. Try to see if this is really what you want 🙂
If you’re seriously about the Child Psychology, you can sit for IGCSE Sociology next year. Then continue to A-Level Sociology.
The good thing about keeping in Science stream is, you can always “switch” to Art stream line whenever you want. During your self-study of Sociology, if you feel this is not what you want to do in the future, then you still have lots of options to choose from with your science subjects. In fact, we would recommend you to keep your Biology, since you did very well in it, A* 😉
In this way, you have broader choices for university/college. So, your subjects would be: Physics, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, English. With these subjects, there is no problem for you to go for Architecture, and many other faculties.
In the meantime, try to take IGCSE Sociology as “Private Candidate”, and sit for the exam next year.
Hope these help 🙂 … Remember, we are always here. You are most welcome to talk to us 🙂
I checked on many universities’ websites; in order to study psychology you need biology and maths at A level and some require chemistry as well. Sociology is not required.
Hi Najla,
Then you may proceed to apply with these universities if you already fulfil their requirements. As you said, “some require Chemistry as well”, that means not all require that.
Therefore, it is still best to check with the university that you want to apply to, and ask for their entry requirements. We would not know all the universities requirements in the world.
Thank you so much IGCSE Centre.
