I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Hey! I recently read the grade thresholds for Economics 0455 March 2015. What is noticed is it said the maximum total marks is 150. However, Adding the raw marks of both paper1 and paper2 gives a total mark of 120. I am really confused…please help!
Thanks!
Same for bio physics and chem as well :/
Yes, It’s the same for chemistry and biology and physics total 150-200
If we exceed the word limit in English Language do we get penalized ?
Please do reply back asap as I have exceeded the word limit and if they do cut some marks I won’t be able to reach an A*. I am a very sincere student , please help out.
Hello Rheaa,
They’ll probably penalise a mark or two because they might feel like it (it depends entirely on the mood of the examiner and of course, your quality of writing). If you exceeded it by way too much then there is a higher chance, but don’t worry, you’ll get an A* for sure, as long as you worked hard. 🙂
Sorry! I just found out something. The board will not penalise any marks if you have exceeded the word limit:P My bad, but anyways, just hope for the best.
yes they may penalize you. I was told you are allowed +10 or -10
Yeah they do cut marks.
if its like a few words ahead like for eg if the word limit is 300 you write 320 words they won however if its too much say 400 word then would cut marks besides they may cut few marks i am sure that will not stop you from getting an A *
It depends. Cambridge allows students to exeed up to 10% of the given word limit. For example if the word limit was a maximum of 200, you will be rewarded until 220 (20 words extra) so you can exeed but always make sure it’s not more than 10% of the word limit. Best of luck!!!
Yeah they take some marks out but not more than 2
yes they will only read till the word limit and mark you accordingly.
yes, if you exceed the word limit of 200 words or any other limit, you’ll be placed from the 3 to 4 marks band and this means that you won’t get a score more than 4 in both language and content. this is only applicable if you exceed the word limit by 20 words or something, but if you exceed by few words then no problem.
No deduction of marks for that… Just that they wont mark all the extra stuff u wrote.
Excuse me where is economics paper 2016
There is no economics specimen 2016 paper as it is not a new syllabus this year 🙂
It IS 2016 right now ._.
the means there is no change in the syllabus from the previous year. So check 2015 specimen paper
Hello IGCSE centre,
I would like to now if we can just right phrases instead of full sentences in the French listening paper, 0520, paper 1. I need this information as it can greatly save time in section 2, ex.2 and section 3, ex 2.
Thanks in advance!
I forgot to mention a point,
Are we allowed to write in pencil insured of the usual pen?
Hello Karthikeyan,
Please refer to the mark scheme.
People who gave the ICT exams in India in Feb/March, can you tell me how the exam was since there have been drastic changes in the syllabus.
Was the format same and was the paper easier than compared to previous years or harder?
I’m giving them in May
Yes I also want
Paper were easy….some new content was there…..but be cautious for Paper 2
Format is same….paper was easy….prepare access, excel throughly!! all the best
All the questions were from the new textbook. I gave my exam like a week ago. Do everything from the new textbook! All the best!
The new Collins text book? by Paul Clowery and Colin Stobart, right?
Dear Anne which text book are you talking about?could you please mention
it was very easy we did not have a excell file we had to create 1 for paper 3
and paper 2 was quiet easy
Hey Mashaal,
I gave my ICT exam now in March. Practicles was pretty easy! but when it came for theory it was mostly the newly added portion and the paper was very hard!
The practical was quite easy, both of them. But the structured was actually really hard. The format was different and there weren’t as many application based questions. They had a lot of questions based on the new and added portions of the syllabus especially questions based on energizing technologies. The last question was a lengthy explanation for like 8 marks based on a statement they had given and it’s accuracy.
Harder ,really tough
it was damn tough .Being a topper I had strain all of my grey cells to just attempt one question.
Hey I just gave most of my exams and tomorrow is economics MCQ(last one!) .. Most of the sciences extended part was differently structured but same style as previous papers and atp and mcq of the sciences were very similar to specimen paper 2016..and maths this time was extremely easy.. 3 times more than the other past papers i had solved.. However for ICT different questions were asked then we had expected in the theory part(rarely asked questions were asked) otherwise for the rest of rhe subjects everything was similar… But i think that the feb/march series may supposedlt be different from the paper pattern of M/J and O/N
Science extended and ICT was difficult overall
Oh my god.. That means I should probably do more books than past papers. Thank you so much all of you!
Is G grade a pas or fail in igcse extended
