I was just hoping to ask this one question why do the threshold change every sitting? Does it depend on the examiner?
Hi Musaab,
Every year, the exam questions have slight differences on the level of difficulty. In order to provide equivalent A* achieving chance, the threshold is used to determine the grades for that year. The grade thresholds are determined by a mixture of statistical evidence and the professional judgment of the principal examiners.
when will I get my certificate if I wrote my IGCSE on 2016 oct/nov. Please reply as soon as possible.

Dear igcse team,
My name is Rumaya and I will be doing my igcse o level examination this year during May/June. Next month dated April 15th I will be doing the igcse 0510 english as a second language (oral endorsement) speaking examination at my school here in Saudi Arabia…..it would be really helpful if you could please tell me whether my speaking scores will be added to the other 2 papers (Listening and reading or writing) and will affect my A* grade or whether the marks I receive in speaking will just exist as a grade (for example grade 1, grade2 , etc) alone and will not affect my final result. The variant I am doing is 11. Thanking u all for ur time and efforts into making this Web site for us Igcse students. It has helped me a lot.By the way It would be highly appreciated if u could reply to me as soon as possible because I have an ample amount of time for preparation. ????

First of all, thank you for your kind words.
In syllabus 0510, marks for the Speaking component do not contribute to the overall grade candidates receive for the written components. Instead, where candidates perform to an appropriate standard, certificates record separately the achievements of grades 1 (high) to 5 (low) for speaking.
You should not be worrying about how your paper will be graded, instead, you should focus on preparing for your upcoming examination and do your very best during the examination.

Hello Igcse Centre. I study English as aFirst Language but am never able to scor marks. I do the available past papers and get good marks in the them but, in the exam I am never able to scor well. I do not know if it is my strict teacher, who barely pays any attention on languae as she is my literature teacher as well, or just me. Do you have any tips for me as to how I can improve my grades?
