Does anyone have an idea of what topics will be in the Chemistry papers 3 and paper 6. Also where I can find the topics
usually for paper 3 there will ALWAYS be a question on organic chem, rate of reaction, metal reactivity and atoms ( maybe ) acids and bases and metal extraction. paper 6 there is be electrolysis, qualitative analysis (100%) and maybe a graph on acid-base reaction or effect of temp. on a rxn. I LOVE chem, don’t sweat this exam, it’ll be easy this year!
How do you know it’ll be easy? Are you giving your exam this session too?
It seems u have a good teacher… XD
Sadly I dont haha. Though I’ve got a WONDERFUL textbook lol! And @tryinghard I am giving it this session too! Ive done all the past papers for chem (2002-2014) and there hasnt been much of a change. If you’ve done alot of past papers, this exam will be a piece of cake! unlike bio which changes every year (:@)
I certainly hope that’s true! Do you mind me asking which textbook you use?
No of course not! I use Hodder Education by Bryan Earl 2nd edition! Hope that helps 😀
I love chemistry too, but easy I can’t say that when it comes to chemistry
I agree… !!!!
I am giving my Mathematics exam today, so I wanted to know if it will be some what like the 2014 papers or no? as the 2014 papers were a little different..
Hi Tanay,
There is a 2015 specimen paper for Maths. Please look into that.
The paper is very easy
paper was super easy. I only needed to think for 2 questions. 1 was the canal question and the other was the f(x)=x^2+4x-6 question
what about the nth term ? that was my awful part of the test !!
roronna
the nth term was not easy
2 marks though
practice how to find nth term in sequence with 2 differences
like this sequence
4-10-18-28-40
good luck
and what was the answer for that question 2 and -10 ? ryt ? :\
was it really? i found it fair and what was your answer to the canal question…..i divided but i was apparently supposed to multiply by 0.95
How did you solve the canal question? I did that paper as well just yesterday.
Do you remember the questions by any chance?
Lets not do that sorta thing! play by the rules to get a result that you deserve 😀
The questions won’t be the same Kata 🙂 … But no harm for you to do some practice. 😉
I am parent. My daughter set this exam today. I was just going to get trough the questions and discuss them together… I’m sure the questions will come out soon enough as past papers. No worries…
Hey guys, anyone writing biology paper 6 tomorrow? If you are, which experiments do you think will be in the paper?
a high chance of a starch/sugar/protein/fats test
Lol, there werent any tests in today’s exam, was rlly easy one. NOT EVEN A GRAPH QUESTION WAS THERE!
I am taking variant one btw
lucky! 62 had a barchart (easy)
And not a single one came
I am doing my A level studies.last year when I did my bio paper 6.damn it was messy . But above use your time wisely days da most important thing when writing an exam.Gud luck
osmosis (visking tubing) exp
Enzymes(catalase,amylase,lipase)
photosynthesis (all factors related)
photo and geo tropism
Germination (related to WOW)
setting up pit-fall traps
affectiveness of different antiviotics….
Hope that helps 🙂
Thanks
Welcome 🙂
God! P6 asks us to count the number of cells! What the hell is that!
OMG I know, I got 54 cells, but when I spoke to the other people, half the class got 52-6, but the other half got like 43-8………how can everyone’s answer be so different??
i got 56 cell !! my friends got 43 and some got 64
How many cells did you count? 🙁 and what was you “actual length” to the nearest whole no. ( I thought that question was tremendously horrid)
For the actual length, I got 0.04mm, which sounds way too small, and other people in my class got random answers like 0.25mm………What did you guys get????
i got 52
yes many people got 52 – 54 ( I think that’s right ) I got 69 🙁 lol! and even I got 0.04mm but since the question said nearest whole no. I rounded it off and my final answer was 0 which is absurd but that’s what the question was asking for :/ this paper wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be but it’ll do 🙂 anyone doing the English language paper tomorrow? psyched!
do you know what i wrote for the actual size ? i wrote 40 mm !! hhahaha i know its wrong !!:) but there was no time so i just wrote this answer
the whole number was 0.04 which is correct and the number of cells is bullshit!
what do you reckon i do in order to do well in this english paper tmao because so far, i have always had an issue when it came to paper 3 and i want it to end by all means. im hoping for an A in general, but i struggled in paper 2 and didnt finish
The cells for me were 60 and guys even 0 is a whole no. as it was 0.4…. the whole no. was 0
P.S. I dont think thats right but still
0.04 is soo totally not a whole no. omg! ans:0 even if it sounds wierd… language p3 just requires alot of practise and good diction! a few metaphors, similes and personifications to spice up your answer and you’ll never get a grade below B haha
History paper 1 was tricky!I answered number 5,6 and 12
was a bit tricky but i feel it was quite better than the ones i practiced
I felt as if the paper was quite easy to be honest. The league of nations question was a bit tricky. But other than that it was as if they decided to give us marks.
I did the TOV question and the Cold war. And then the question of consolidation of power in Section B.
How was the cold war? I felt I could’ve done better on it. What did u write about?
In the English Language Exam, one task was a letter to a brother. It had said “Begin your letter ‘Dear Bryon’,” however I wrote “Dear Frank,” because I did not read that part. Do you think I will get penalised for this?
yes
it said dear brian
was it 0511 paper?? varient 2
No, it was 0500
which paper was this? and Im sure a mistake in the name might only cost you one mark unless you used frank in your answer as well!
no, if you’re unlucky to meet a strict examiner he may mark you as out of topic and put you in band 6 or smthg bc you wrote to frank not brian
do you have listening tracks for ESL ???
i searched your documents and i found only may/june 2013
yes me too
I need it urgently too 🙁 I have an exam in a few hours
Hey Guys,
Any tips for the IGCSE French : Foreign Language (0520) Papers 1 (Listening) and 4 (Continuous Writing).. I have them tomorrow and i am scared!
Also, please help me with Biology (0610) Paper 5!! I always lose marks and I don’t know what to prepare before hand.
Thanks 😀
Hey IGCSE Team, is there a server overload going on? Cause no one can access the past papers
Hi Antony,
It’s the Google server can’t handle the overload access.
I have them tomorrow as well 🙂
I think for the listening you should just listen the whole time carefully and the first time they play it write in pencil and the second time write in pen.
Paper 4 I haven’t really thought about 0.0 Just learn some vocabulary and do past papers because they really help. If you get stuck on one of the essays don’t freak out. Just write in simple French. They aren’t looking for you to be as good as a French person so if you get stuck just write simple but correct French 😉
What was your answer for the “18 au 27 ________” ??
just know 20 verbs at hand
expressions such as cepedant, d’autre part, malgre, aussi
goodluck in listeningz 😀
Just relax, I have those as well…plus math
Who else found the listening paper really hard?
memememememememe!!! im totally getting 92% 🙁
you’re upset about 92% ? I found the listening paper much tougher than usual though, hope the grade thresholds are lenient!
Well if im aiming for a 95% in French then 92% is definitely not good enough haha! plus many people thought it went well so the grade threshold could be high that’s why im scared!! 🙁 paper 2 HAS to be good! hope 1hr is enuf
92%? Im hoping for an A* in all my subjects but french listening was so pathetic that I will have to pray to all the lords above to get into a B! But at least you found it harder than normal
why was it hard?
And howcome u did it today when I have the exam tom???
Giveme sme hints plssssssssss
Hey Rahaf,
Both you are in different timezone, thus, different administrative zone. That’s how the variants of the papers come from – got it? 🙂
And don’t think you could get any “hints” of the questions. They are different 🙂
Omg that’s why there are variants??? wow CIE knows their stuff!! im relieved bcuz I didn’t think it fair that the people from different timezones can get to know the answers!! hehe
🙂 … CIE knows you guys! 😉
i have even tried all the suggestions made for the for the previous comments but still no luck
