I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example Iโm a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. Iโve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Hello,
Refer to the English paper 0500 which requires candidate to write about 250-350 words.
Will the candidate be penalised in the event he writes more that 350 words, say 800 words? Looking forward to your reply.
Thank you
ML
Hi Mei Lin,
You will not be penalised for exceeding the word limit, but if there are needed points inside the excess words, they wonโt be marked and crossed out.
We strongly suggest that you keep to the word limit. Remember, you are being tested for accuracy, cohesion, and concision. Furthermore, the word limits will help you to plan your time in the examination and target the requirements of each question more effectively.

3. Pay attention to the most common mistakes he always seems to make. Take notes and revise them to avoid making the same mistakes in your actual exams.

Hi , So I am in desperate need for advice , my mocks are in a few weeks and I write my Igcse exams in October-November and i am so nervous because I am no where near where I should be due to procrastination and now its stabbing me hard in the back and I am so stressed , any exam helps on what I can do in my remaining time please please help me
Hi Valerie,
We suggest that you take a deep breath and relax. This article can help you on how to handle your stress: https://www.skolatis.com/how-to-handle-your-stress-when-exam-is-approaching/.
The best way to revise is to practice past exam papers (https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/). We usually suggest student practice at least 5 years of past exam papers. Start from the latest past exam papers and work backwards. This will help to familiarise yourself with the question style format of each paper. Pay attention to the most common mistakes you always seem to make. Make notes and revise them, so you can avoid making the same mistakes in your actual exam.
You must put your mind to answering your paper, not stressing. When you concentrate on one thing, your mind canโt think of another thing. Believe in yourself and your abilities.
You can also consider our single payment courses. You will have access to all the course materials at once. You will have the flexibility to go through the topics at your own pace and complete it before your exams. Please have a read at this page to learn how it works: https://www.skolatis.com/single-payment-option/.
If you need any assistance, please feel free to write to us. Thank you!
Dear IGCSE team,
I will be starting my Alevels next year, and I was wondering if you could offer me some tips beforehand? Plus I hoped if you could give me some insight as to whether a combination of four subjects or three or five subjects is better for me as I’m a type of person who doesn’t do good under high pressure. Also I was wondering that if I want to pursue Biotech in the future should I take physics, biology, chemistry and computer science in Alevels??
Thanks a lot!
Regards
Nawal
Hello Nawal,
Please read our suggestions below:
1. Prepare ahead of time by working on sections of the content each day. You can revise the subjects from the beginning. Highlight the important facts that you think could be on the test (you should refer to the latest syllabus on what is expected during exams here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-international-as-a-level-syllabuses/).
Then use the past exam papers (https://www.skolatis.com/as-a-level-past-exam-papers/) as your revision. Please start with the latest papers as they have the newest syllabus format and continue with the older ones date back from 5 years. Pay attention to the most common mistakes you always seem to make. Make notes and revise them, so you can avoid making the same mistakes in your actual exam.
2. For your second and third questions, we strongly suggest that you inquire directly with your preferred universities. Check with them their subject entry requirements. In this way, you would have 100% assurance that you have chosen the right subjects for your future studies.
We hope this helps! Thank you!
Thanks a lot.
Hi Nawal,
You’re welcome! Feel free to write to us if you have any questions. We’re here to help!
