I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Hello IGCSE Centre,
The overall percentage will be total marks we have achieved or will it be based on the grade thresholds?
Hello Mikael,
The percentage uniform mark is not the same as the actual total mark that the candidate achieves on the syllabus. This is because the percentage uniform mark depends on both
the actual total mark for the syllabus and the position of the grade thresholds (which may vary from one exam series to another and from one syllabus to another). The percentage uniform mark is also different from the actual mark because it is always calculated out of 100.
For example, a student who gets the minimum mark necessary for a Grade A* obtains a percentage uniform mark of 90. A student who gets a mark halfway between the Grade
D threshold and Grade C threshold achieves a percentage uniform mark of 55.
It is a point on a common scale for all syllabuses to show whether the candidate?s performance is close to the top, middle or bottom of the grade.
Please kindly read this for more information: https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/images/345404-a-guide-to-percentage-uniform-marks.pdf
Please explain about how does percentile work
Hi Ray,
Percentage uniform mark (PUM) corresponds to the grades available (A*, A, B, C etc.) and gives students additional information about their performance. It shows your percentile, not the total mark achieved for the syllabus. It is a point on a common scale for all syllabuses to show whether the candidate?s performance is close to the top, middle or bottom of the grade.
You are the best IGCSECENTRE. You have helped me a lot.
Hello Sai,
Thank you so much for your kind words. We wish you well on your future endeavours.
You may want to check out our AS / A Level pages here: https://www.skolatis.com/as-a-level-past-exam-papers/
i am prepaing for feb march i want to become india topper in physics whatr marks should be .please guide me
Hello Zaid,
Start as early as possible. You can revise the subjects from the beginning. Highlight the important facts that you think could be on the test (you should refer to the latest syllabus on what is expected during exams here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/). You can then use the past exam papers (https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/) as your revision. Start with the latest papers as they have the newest syllabus format and continue with the older ones date back from 5 to 10 years. Then, revise on the most common mistakes that you always seem to make. Pay attention to the most common mistakes you always seem to make. Make notes and revise them, so you can avoid making the same mistakes in your actual exam.
Furthermore, please follow the instruction in the mark scheme. Mark scheme consists of everything you need to know on what is needed in order to score the highest band.
Hey! Your website is really organised and you have been a really good contributer to my revision and exams. Thank you for your hard work.
However, for the past 1.5 years of me taking the mocks for english as a secong language 0510, I have been receiving just an A. I really wish to achieve an A* and I am sitting for the igcses this year in M/J. It doesnt help either that the syllabus has changed so I have very little resources and the grade boundaries are extremely high for an A* always.
Thank you,
Regards

Dear IGCSE team,
I don’t really understand that when I go to one of the subjects that I’m taking, I pick one of the months for example 2018 May-June, it gives me 2 or more paper 1 and other papers. So I don’t really get it.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Panda Chan,
Hi Panda,
The numbers at the end of each paper are variants number. The variants number in the end are for different administrative zones. You can find your administrative zone here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-exam-schedules/
There is a compulsory combination of papers needed for each subject. Please consult your teacher / exam centre properly.
Hey IGCSE centre,
Will we be penalised for going beyond the word limit in English -First Language (0500) and French as a Foreign Language (0520)?
Hello Rebecca John,
For English First Language (0500), you will not be penalised if you exceed the word limit in an essay writing. However, you have to make sure you can finish all the writing on time. If you wrote under the word limit, chances are you did not provide enough points to answer the questions, and might end up getting a lower score.
Our advice is not to write too much. Aim for quality rather than quantity. This means to focus more on writing excellent English rather than a long essay.
On a side note, if you are writing a summary ? DO NOT exceed the word limit.
On the other hand for French as a Foreign Language (0520), the recommended word count for both Question 2 and Question 3 are not mandatory; candidates should not feel obliged to remove significant detail in order to meet the word count. However, answers to Question 3 in excess of 200 words are inappropriate and in this instance candidates should be advised to be more selective. Kindly download the Examiner Report for reference, https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/images/424470-june-2016-examiner-report.pdf
Thank you so much! This was really helpful!
You’re welcome!
what are the prices for the courses right now?
