What’s the best possible way to revise for Biology Paper 3 (Extended Tier) the day before the exam?
go online search for biology IGCSE notes and just look for the ones you like. or if you highlighted while you studied bio before go through the highlighted points. if you havnt done that then there is a summary box at the end of each chapter in the book. just go through each of the points. give it a good 4-5 hours. the more theory you do the better chances you have of getting A*. if you know the theory inside out then you can tackle any difficult question. 🙂 hope this helped. all the best!
Thanks!
Hey, just go over the syllabus. At least that’s what I’m doing. I think it’s that’s the best way if you have the time.
go through some of the hard topics, make sure you understand them, memorize the things you have to (e.g. the functions of different parts of the eye), and lastly if you still have time leaf through several past papers and look at the mark scheme

paper 42 math was easy peasy if you knew math! 🙂 my whole year group found it easy as we were taught properly in class on how to understand and tackle difficult questions(hoping for between 95 to 100)
yes same outcome from my batch. A*s for many
Atlast someone like me who thinks the paper was pretty easy.
what did u write for the histogram thing where you had to compare the two?
No wonder you guys thought the paper was easy…
Your standards are quite low, 100 out of 130 is pretty bad, considering that 30 MARKS are lost. Anyway, lets just jope that the threshold is low and we all end up with good grades
that’s actually very true, if every time I thought the exam was easy like hell and ended ip losing 30 marks which is my average ill fell bad about myself.
Ok since it went well for you do u think you can help me?
What did u get for( if u remember)
1) the rate for the whole distance Alan travels?
2) the area of the plant pot for the cone question
3) the graph a b and c?
4) the distance from the lighthouse for the bearing question?
5) the first probability question?
Please help I am dying to know how I did 🙂
for the plant pot question, I found the surface area of the entire cone curve the minused the curved area of the small cone. Then, I found the area of the circular base of the pot.
I dont remember the rate part but i dont think i got it correct.
The first probability question I dont really remember it but I remember finding the probability of the opposite and deducting it from 1.
As for the rest, graph a b and c and the bearing i dont know as well, i couldnt do the bearing question even though it looks simple with 2 marks.
yes exactly it was very easy I don’t get why were people making a big fuss of it was even easier than 2014 it have any sequences and probability was very simple. it’s good that other people found it easy cause I was starting to doubt myself like did I mess up so bad that it seemed easy!!!
Can you explain how you were supposed to do question 3 C about alans rate of fuel use.
ill type in the whole question so you can solve
On the first part of a journey, Alan drove a distance of x km and his car used 6 litres of fuel
The rate of fuel used by his car was 600/x litres per 100km
(a) Alan then drove..(x+20) km.. ok now i solved the next question which should answer 600/(x+20) litres/100km … i solved the next one with the quadratic .. x=100 or -80
c) Find the rate of fuel used by Alan’s car for the complete journey,GIve your answer in litres per 100km.
please help with this.. i know you have to use x=100 as it is positive
I also dont undertsand how to do the question where it asks to draw the line y=3x+1
the asks you to find what a,b and c are in the equation x^3 + ax^2 + bx + c = 0
maths p42 salute to whoever gets full
I’m expecting about 128. 127 are pretty much the marks I’m sure of. I have a 3 marks doubt and expect to get 1 or 2 out of those 3.
Masha’a Allah man!! i swear its just awesome when sm1 can b too confident abt maths may u always score high 🙂
Hey..could u tell what did you wrote for the histogram question apart.. Everything was fine…. Thanks
My mom says I would get a U.
LOL

Dear Igcse team,
My maths exam went really hard and because of this i am really depressed, i can not even study for my other exams. how can i motivate myself?. May allah bless you
It is ok Abubaqr. It was just a test. Just keep going positively! You can do it 🙂
TO BE HONEST, IGCSE TEAM WHY DID YOU MADE MATHS P42 SOOOO HARD!! I’M SOOOO DEPRESSED AFTER GIVING MY MATH EXAM!!
Hi Adhi,
It’s not us making the exam paper, it is CIE. 🙂
mannn that math p42 was insaneeee. skipped like 4 questions. that stupid ship one included. and wasn’t matrix transformation removed from this year’s syllabus? (hoping grade boundaries are low)
hahahahhaa
chill adhi
Hey IGCSE Team
I had written 240 words on my English letter writing and I wanted to know how much marks would they deduct?
Hello Akmal,
No, you don’t be penalised for exceeding the wordings. If you have produced a well-balanced and fully developed writing, this in fact would give you an advantage in terms of content marks.
thank you
you guys shud have practiced the book mor than past papers for math p4
Hey guys. Maths paper 42 was a really hard paper. All my preparation and time I’ve out into this feels like it was just thrown outta the window. I don’t get why they publish an easy specimen paper and then when you’re up against the real deal they screw you over. :/ As one of my teachers would say this was “Cambridge down with the kids!”
Although it gives a slight relief to see that most people found it challenging and hard. If the results will be lover than the average threshold then everyone should have a good chance to get a decent grade compared to the paper.
Keep up the optimism! Most of us still have exams to attend and don’t let this “shocker” math paper 42 get in your way! All the best to everyone! 😉
Hey Levente…..i totally agree with you
Math paper 42 was such a psychological troma …. like almost 60% of the candidates in my room ( out of more than 200) were crying after the exam..
As you mentioned the specimen paper was soo easy and it was the last paper I did before the exam with 2 hours and it really got me up but when i received the paper….. I was totally shocked …..
But this should make no effect on the rest of the papers..
hoping grade boundaries are low.. 🙂
Dear IGCSE team
What do i need to know for chemistry paper 6 exam??
Hi Ayoub,
For such last minute, we suggest you to read through the mark scheme and see what is expected from you.
