I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Dear IGCSE Centre,
Am I allowed to bring a Periodic Table for my Physics Theory Extended Paper tomorrow in the PM session?
There won’t be any difficulty or something…
Hello Anushia,
Please kindly confirm this with your exam centre.
Thank you for your understanding.
Dear Igcse centre,
I have a physics theory paper this week. However, I am really confused about how to deal with significant figures in calculations. When I was solving one of the past paper I saw an answer of 426 rounded to 430, I could see this in many places. I always like to stick to 2 SF for calculations, will I be penalised for writing non exact answers to 2 SF in every numerical in the paper if nothing stated by the question?
Thank you
Hello Anay,
Unless otherwise stated, it is expected that candidates should round their final answer to 2 significant figures. However, intermediate values should not be rounded or truncated as this frequently leads to an inaccurate final answer.
We hope this helps. We wish you well with your exams.
Dear Igcse Team,
Is it possible for me to take all the Sciences included Science-Combined?
Hello Nicole,
You cannot take Science-Combined together with the three separate Science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) in a single examination series. We suggest that you download the respective subject syllabus here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/ as it lists what you can combine with and what you can’t with any other Cambridge syllabus.
If you take the separate sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), you can earn three grades and it will enable you to enrol into a wider range of courses in the university later.
You may want to check out this post as this discuss the different Science awards: https://www.skolatis.com/single-award-double-award-triple-award-sciences-which-is-better/
We hope this helps. Thank you.
Thank you Igcse Team for assisting me! I really appreciate your help!
Hi Nicole,
We are glad to assist you.
Hi IGCSE CENTER,
I have exams in May June,
I wanted to know, from your experience, whether I should solve more past papers(i have done till 2016) or I should do more topic-classified questions?
Thanks
Hello Kaboom,
We suggest that you answer up to 5 years of past papers. Start with 2020 past exam papers (November, June, March) set since they follow latest syllabus format then continue with the older ones. Pay attention to the most common mistakes you always seem to make. Read and annotate your textbook for the questions you got wrong so you can avoid making the same mistakes in your actual exam.
You can also simulate the test environment by turning off your phone and isolating yourself in your classroom or in the library, and give yourself only the amount of time you will be allotted during the actual test. Don’t pause to look at your phone or checking social media, and try to treat the test like the real thing.
You may want to consider our A* Revision Courses too. We offer single payment courses where students can access all A* materials at once for four months. Please kindly check them here: https://www.skolatis.com/single-payment-option/
We hope this helps. Thank you.
Thanks
Hello there,
We’re glad to help.
Thank you for this tip!
Hi Nicole,

Hello Nicole,
Please kindly watch out for our next free lessons and Q&A schedule. We suggest that you subscribe to our newsletter here: https://www.skolatis.com/newsletter/ for the announcement of the next schedule and we also send out valuable FREE email courses when you subscribe to our newsletter.
Okay thank you Igcse Team!
Hi Nicole,
You are very much welcome. We are glad to help.
Dear IGCSE Centre,
Whenever we write the Mathematics Paper 2 and Paper 4, on the front page in the instructions it’s written round to 3 s.f., 1 d.p. in angles, etc…
But, in the Physics Theory Paper, the calculations which are required are all rounded to the different places…
E.g. Ans 1(a) is rounded to 3 s.f., Ans 2(c) is rounded to 3 d.p. …
And in the instructions on the first page, there’s’ no mention to round to different places…
Can you HELP ME, because my exam is on Wednesday. and I really, really need your help…PLEASE…
Hello Anushia,
Unless otherwise stated, it is expected that candidates should round their final answer to 2 significant figures. However, intermediate values should not be rounded or truncated as this frequently leads to an inaccurate final answer.
We hope this helps. We wish you well with your exams.
Dear IGCSE Centre,
What are the average marks someone should get out of 200 to get an A* star in reference to the March 2021 exams for March (Mathematics)
Just overall, can you guess and just give an idea so I can understand what my grade around will be…
ALSO, for someone overally to get an A* in Maths, do they have to get 180 or around 160
Hello Anushia,
We cannot speculate that. This is because grade thresholds are decided after each examination has been taken and marked. The aim in each examination series is to set each threshold in just the right place to ensure that it is no more difficult and no less difficult to obtain that grade than it was in the previous exam series.
Alternatively, you may want to download the grade threshold of past exam series to give you an idea.
Thank you for the help,I really appreciate it!
