I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Dear IGCSE Team.
I wrote the IGCSE exams last year,(2020), and I did not get good grades. I wrote 6 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Maths, English First Language, Computer Science and Accounting. I was doing homeschooling last year. I am interested in studying Mechanical Engineering. I would like to ask if it is possible to do only 4 subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science.
Regards

Hello VVK,
Thank you for writing in.
The usual subjects required for Engineering subjects are: English, Maths, Additional Maths, Physics, Chemistry. But it is best that you check with the universities you have in mind and check their subject and grade entry requirements. In this way, you would have 100% confirmation on what subjects you need to take.
You may want to consider our A* online courses to help you with your exam preparations. These courses had produced many A* candidates worldwide. Please have a read at this page to learn how it works: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses.
We hope this helps. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind information.

Please cancel mock exams too,no one wants exams
exams is waste of money, resources and time
and please assess us through projects and assignments which are less stressful
the era has changed
people can easily cheat due to lockdown
there is no point having mock exams though
exams have lot of disadvantages
make life easy for us
have mercy on us atleast in this pandemic
Hello Gallinari,
Thank you for writing in.
We would like to inform you that we are not the exam board. We would suggest that you write your concern to CAIE. You may reach them via their website: https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/
Thank you.

Thank you for your understanding.
Hi IGCSE Team,
Our igcse exams just got cancelled here in Saudia Arabia. I am so disappointed with this news as I have been working so hard for this. My school isn’t providing much information about assessed grades so can you please tell me something, like how I’ll be assesed. I’ve seen the Cambridge site but still do tell me what should I do? I just can’t imagine this would happen!
Regards
Amir
Dear Amir,
Please do not be discouraged.
We believe that the exams are still the fairest way of assessing a student’s performance. You may consider withdrawing your June entry and re-enter for the November exam series. Kindly inform your school immediately as the last day of withdrawing is fast approaching. Please refer to the key dates here: https://www.skolatis.com/exam-registration-dates/.
Otherwise, you will receive a school-assessed grade that will be based on the level of achievement demonstrated from the work that you have done in school. Schools will identify a portfolio of three substantial pieces of work from each student in every syllabus. It can include one or more of any of the following:
– Complete past papers from the syllabus with a duration of an hour or more
– Completed coursework prepared according to syllabus requirements
– Work made up of questions selected from various past papers
– Papers used as mock exams
– Extended project work set by the school during the course of study
– Tasks set by the centre, such as essays, assignments, problems, practical tasks.
The school-assessed grades in June 2021 are different to the predicted grades which were issued in the June 2020 series. The predicted grades issued in June 2020 were based on the centre’s judgement of what the candidate would have achieved had the exams taken place – a judgement based on potential. In June 2021, the school-assessed grades will be based on actual achievement.
Schools must base their judgement of the candidate’s achievement on demonstrated achievement only. They cannot speculate whether the student could have done better had there been no pandemic or no disruption to teaching and learning.
Should you need further assistance, feel free to write to us. Thank you.
Recently, our IGCSE exams got cancelled in Saudia Arabia. I am very disappointed to hear that as I have been preparing very hard for this. What should I do now?
Do you have O level paper 1 and paper 2 past papers for physics, biology and chemistry?
Hello Thabile,
Here’s the link to our O Level past papers page: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-o-level-past-exam-papers/
Should you require further assistance, feel free to write to us.
Thank you.
How can I start preparing for the IGCSE in May-June? And do you know any best way for studying? I am new to British curriculum and I have very weak basics so I started tuition but however, it is impossible to complete the syllabus in one month.
Hello Lujane,
Thank you for writing in.
We usually suggest students to start their revision at least 5 months before their exams so they will have sufficient time to cover everything.
But since you only have limited time, you may do targeted revision. You can go through the topics that you are not so confident about. Learn what is expected from you (https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/) and answer topic specific practices. But we also suggest that you allot time to answer past exam papers (https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/). Answering past exam papers will help you familiarise with the question styles and formats.
You may also consider our single payment course. You can access the full course materials at once for four months. You can go through the topics and watch the video tutorials. Then answer the exam-style assessments for each topic. For more information, please have a read at this page: https://www.skolatis.com/single-payment-option/
We hope this helps. Thank you.
