hey guys,
I REALLY HOPE THIS COMMENT GETS A REPLY
SO PLZ ANSWER MY QUESTIONS ACCORDINGLY.
1. For French paper 2 variant 1, were the vrais the first and last?
2. For bio, paper 3 variant 1, what did you guys write for the last question and was there one about you had to explain fertilization?
3. where can I get good chemistry short revision notes?!!
🙂 🙂
The last question was quite simple. Because there is a lot of energy loss during the food chain through respiratory loss, excretion, metabolism etc. the top consumer always needs a lot of animals below it as every single one only gives a little bit of energy as most of it has been lost during the foodchain. The reason why the number of wolfs did not rise is because what seems like a large number of moose can not support a larger population of wolfs because the mentioned energy loss. The fertilisation/ovulation questions were really bad I just guessed ^^ I hope it does not drag me down too much.
ur writing around a single point which is not a main one, its not a simple as that, and it will gain u a single mark as well (if u gained any) 🙁 scroll down for the right answer
Yes the 1st and last were true.
the last questions the answer was about energy flow and for the fertilsation one you had to write about the zygote dividing my mitosis and how it moves
after fertilization the following things happen:
the egg develops a membrane to prevent any more sperms to enter
the menstrual cycle stops
the corpus lutum continue secreting oestrogen n progesterone to prevent menstruation and to make walls ready for implaantation
No FSH or LH released to prevent any follicle to develop , n so prevent any ovulation
hmmm i think that i wrote 2 points more but idk i forgot
for the last question it says the the population of the creature didnt raise above 50
simply cuz
1. death rate is high / death rate = birth rate
2. hunting
3. a disease
4. emigration = imigration
5. the habitat of the island was not suitable for them
these points will get u the 5 marks i think
That is incorrect.
They did not give us information about the wolves and there are many other valid points, you cannot simply reject a correct answer and give your own all the credit.
I want to know for french also. Most people had first 2 true, and last 3 false. How about you?
i dont take french
yup…that’s correct according to the new specimen papers
I don’t remember which variant i did for french, was it about the winter carnival Quebec?
For that question in bio all i could say was a zygote is produced and it divide by mitosis to from an embryo then moves down the oviduct.
Yes the quebec one.
Did you have first 2 true, and last 3 false?
ummmmm, Kirat, how did you know the first n last were true? coz i so wrote that..
and yes it was the Quebec one.
Sally, 80% of the guys that did that varient in my country got that.
@ Bani the last question focused on energy flow as the previous question before the calculation asked what determines the population of the wolf (something like that) therefore disease, hunting e.t.c will be ignored. A question similar to this came in a past paper thats why i know.
where u from kirat
KENYA. Where are you from??
which part. i too am from kenya
long live lions
Nairobi. and you?
im not sure about the order, but the ones i put down as true were 1. the one about him meeting new people and making friends every year and 2. the one about him being excited to see the new carnival
The last one was definitely false because it said he wanted to move to quebec with his cousins yet in the text it says he was confused by their decision to go their in the first place.
ya those germs were dirty
i too am from nairobi XD
SCHOOL??

any tips for chemistry paper 32 ? i have it on monday 🙂
just make sure you know everything, don’t stress, youll be fine 🙂
thank u 🙂
open a book
How many marks will u lose for not writing sunlight and chlorophyll in the balanced chemical equation for photosynthesis for 3 marks??
If its bio P32 then you wont loose any marks 🙂 cuz they didn’t give any space to write conditions! btw what was your hydrogencarbonate answer and why?
hey, type this question in here the nxt time u see ur comment plz. i ve done 31, but i wanna know that hard question ? hope its not silly at the end
I wrote color change is yellow, Because hydrogen carbonate is the source for the C02 needed for the photosynthesis reaction to occur, and co2 is slightly acidic when its taken in the solution starts becoming neutral as water is still present and because 02 is given out which basic and so giving the rise from 7pH to 7.6 🙂
i said the color was purple…
i wrote yellow at first but then scratched it out and wrote purple which i thought was right.
what were your reasoning for it?
The answer is purple. This is because hydrogen carbonate is alkali already, so as the acidic CO2 is used in photosynthesis, the solution becomes less and less acidic, until it’s purple. Type ‘hydrogencarbonate indicator solution photosynthesis bbc gcse’ in google and open up the bbc website page. It’s explained that the test tube with the highest photosynthesis rate will be purple in colour. 🙂

wts how are we even supposed to know that?! this is chemistry and urgh goddamn this question cie :@ y do they like torturing us?? I wanna die I swear 🙁
Hi Anon,
CIE is not torturing anyone… This is just an exam, everyone goes through it 🙂 – Just keep going for just few more days 😉
i guess only 1
if it has 2 marks
if it has 1 mark
still 1
lol 🙂
Dear igcse team,
In subjects such as biology or business do you usually get penalized if you exceed and write below the given lines if you run out of space?
no don’t worry, ive done that for all of mine, and its completely fine, don’t worry.
goodluck for your exams though.
Same here so there is no need to worry and for break even graph i have label it with pencil will they deduct my marks
They usually ask you to use a pencil for graphs or diagrams, I used a pencil too, so as long as the answer is correct there shouldnt be any deductions.
Thank u all
Gee I hope not, cuz thats exactly what I did in a couple questions :p
Dear IGCSE centre,
Where is the mark scheme for chemistry winter paper 12 2014?
EXACTLYY. :/
Dear igcse team,
I think my paper 3 bio was the worst out of the three paper. Is there still a chance of getting an A if I did well in paper 1 and 6.
Hey Irene,
That is going to be tough because paper 3 carries the most marks. But if you did really well in the other two papers you might still get it. Don’t worry about it now though. Keep going strong for the rest of your subjects! 🙂
for the bio paper 12, the height of the 500 peas ques, did you write it was continuous variation only, discontinuous variation only, both or none??
I think it was both because height is an example of continuous variation and also the bars on the graph were not touching each other, which shows discontinuous variation.
its continuous. bell shape curve always means continuous
Yes, I presume it’s only continuous as both sets of graphs is gradual
I wrote both because there is an example of continuous (bell shape curve) and discontinuous (the absence of any bars in between the two bell curves).
yeah same here
I wrote both because there is an example of continuous (bell shape curve) and discontinuous (the absence of any bars in between the two bell curves).
in almost all my exams until now i wrote with my usual handwriting and im so freakn scared that examiners may not recognize mu handwriting and fail in all my exams .my teachers can read my handwriting from my school exams well .only the math that was hard
for biology paper 31
what did everyone get for the calculation question
I got 14.7% but my friends got different answers.. what about you?
i got 1.3
88.6 % as i remember.its the correct answer
it was the percentage of energy consumed by the wolves divided by the energy produced by the moose by respiration, no? So it should be smaller because usually only around 10% of energy is transferred at each trophic level and so it would only make sense for it to be a small percentage.. that’s what i thought at least
Yo
I think your wrong as you most of the energy is lost so the answer should a small percentage which is 1.296 something like this 🙂
Yeah i got the same thing i guess. A very small percentage, 1.29 rounded up to 1.3%
it was 56000/4320000 multiplied by 100.
energy consumed by wold / energy consumed by moose.
Ohh.. i miss understood the question :/ well there goes another 2 marks! 🙁
dont worry even i got 14.7 %
Damn I forgot to multiply it by 100. Will i still get one mark then? Because I wrote 0.01%..But I wrote how I calculated it and that was correct
i got 1.3% too!
That is correct.
thanks! 🙂
How did you even get that?
Areas to read for my chemistry paper 3 exam on monday
