How do grade boundraies work??
Not the IGCSE team but I do know how they work. The top 20 percent of the students are given A*. Therefore the lowest mark of the students that are the top 20 percent forms the A* grade boundary. This is why often when the paper is difficult, the grade boundaries are lower, as the lowest mark in the top 20 percent would be lower.
The examiners try to make the exam so that the A* boundary is around 20%. If a subject is seen as easy (such as Geography), they choose less than 20% (for geography it is 17%).
From A* to C the grade boundaries decrease regularly. So usually A is 70%, B is 60% and C is 50%. Under C follows a different set of rules that I do not know about.

Any thoughts on Biology Paper 11&31?
I thought it was actually alright apart from the menstruation/ovulation/fertility drugs question. I hope that one doesn’t drag me down too much because it was 17 marks and I didn’t do well on it..
paper 11 was easy with some tricky questions only. paper 31 was easy as well and as you said the question for menstruation and fertilisation was pretty long. Im bothered that other lessons in biology that usually come each year didnt come (genetics and nitrogen cycle)

How about trying out the 2015 specimen papers? 🙂 – there are changes of syllabus.
But on the specimen paper the texts that I’m studying aren’t even there. Like fasting,feasting. In this case what do you think I should do. I’m extremely scared.
