I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Dear IGCSE Team,
Is there any specimen papers for Environmental Management?
Finally this stuff is over!
Dear IGCSE team, could you please add the 2015 specimen papers and mark schemes for economics 0455
Hi Reeya,
There is none.
can any one help me solve this maths question.
there are two similar cylinders. one cylinder has one liter and its diameter is 12 cm. the other cylinder has 440 ml and diameter is d. calculate d?
Multiply 12 by cube root of 0.44 upon 1
divide twelve by the cube root of .440 which should give you 5.79cm
1000/440 = 12/x
1000*x = 440*12
5280 = 1000*x
5280/1000
x=5.28
I’m not even sure 😀
you could use ratios. 1000:12
440:d
therefore, 1000d=12*440
d=(12*440)/1000=5.28cm
Hope this helps. What exam is this? Good luck
If they are similar then you could also use VSF and LSF
VSF=Vsmall/Vbig=440/1000=11/25
Cube root this answer. You get 0.7605904922.
Now multiply this by 12 cm which should give you 9.127 cm.
What is the answer do you know?
Similar cylinders means that the both volumes divided is equal to the cube of the divided diameters.
1 litre= 1000 ml
1000/440=(12/d)^3
square root of 3(1000/440)= 12/d
1.314767947=12/d
1.314767947d=12
d= 12/1.314767947
d=9.13 cm
Gaurav Chaturvedi 🙂
so 1000:440 (1 litre is 1000ml)
then do the cube root
so (cube root of 1000) : (cube root of 440)
12 : x
CROSS MULTIPLY THEEN, hope this helped
u use similar figures. so 12/1000 = d/440 and use simple algebra to get d… are u doing your igcse this year?? cuz this question is the basics so u shud be knowing…
the formula to find volume of similar objects is: new vol = old vol * k^3
K is the scale factor, otherwise known as new length divided by old length.
I took the 1 liter cylinder as the old one, and the 440 ml one as the new one.
The info we know:
old vol = 1 liter
old diameter = 12cm
new vol = 440 ml = 0.44 liters
new diameter = d cm
apply this to the formula:
0.44 = 1 * (d/12)^3
now you can change the subject
0.44/1 = (d/12)^3
cube root (0.44/1) = d/12
(cube root (o.44/1)) * 12 = d
d = 9.127 cm
Hey mean
The answer is
1000ml/440ml=12cm/d cm
Then cross multiply
1000*d= 440*12
D=(440*12)/1000
HEY PEOPLE PLEASE COULD YOU BE KIND ENOUGH TO TELL ME HOW MUCH THE LAST QUESTION WORTHED IN O625 PHYSICS PAPER 31??????I AM REALLY TENSED COZ I DONT KNOW WHETHER I WILL GET AN A* OR NOT PLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEASSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEE

Dear IGCSE Team
can i hav 2014 folders plzz
sociology folder
Hi Fatima,
It’s been added. Check it 🙂
DEAR IGCSE TEAM
is there any other website that can help me for sociology?
Hello there,
We had replied you via email. Please check your email.
Hey team
Any tips for economics??
Try to read business articles that are relevant to our syllabus, it helps with understanding economic concepts and situations and adds to your knowledge so you can include real life examples in your answers which will get you extra marks! 🙂
yeah just practice with lots of papers and get your facts right. Anything you write in the exam must make sense. Do not waste precious space!!! Good luck!
And do not CRAM!!! Try to understand your notes rather than just reading and trying to remember them. If cramming suits you then do it.
Dear igcse team,
I’m a grade 9 student does this papers give me some help in exams
Hi Jasir,
They can give you an idea how the exam would be.
I’m in grade 9 to this can help to give ideas of how your IGCSE in grade 10 will be like . As for me I started solving past paper in grade 8 so I know a lot about how the IGCSE would be like .
