I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Dear IGCSE Team
I appreciate the work you do on this site, it has helped my study immensely. I would love to know the recommended pencil shade for Physics (0625) practical papers
Hi Jonathan,
You’re most welcome. If you refer to the latest past exam papers (https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/), you can find in the instructions section that you need to ‘Write in dark blue or black pen.’ and ‘You may use an HB pencil for any diagrams, graphs or rough working.’ Hope this helps 🙂
Can u plz provide the ER of 0500 2016 ON ??
exams are very near i need it .. plz
Hi Aakash,
We do not have ER on 0500 Oct/Nov 2016 as well. We have uploaded all of what we have. Please do check back from time to time.
Is some slang allowed in writing a narrative in 0500 papers?
slang like “gonna”
Hi Aakash,
No. It is not allowed. This is English exam 🙂
Not even in character dialogues?????
Yes, not even in the dialogues writing. You may use informal language for dialogue, such as “Hi, how are you?”.
But these words: gonna, gimme, gotcha…etc etc… are all mobile text words. They are NOT proper vocabulary in English. This is one of the common mistakes candidates make during the exam. 🙂
hello igcse,
how to prepare for english? (0500) Apart from solving papers?
Hi Dhargav,
Other than solving past exam papers, you can try these tips:
– refer to the latest syllabus on what is expected during exams: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/
– pick 3 practice exam questions that are different from each other (closest to what is expected in the latest syllabus)
– In timed conditions, write a response to the practice questions
– In the beginning, you can refer to books, your notes, or even model exam answers (which you can find here: https://www.skolatis.com/igcse-exam-resources/) for inspiration.
– Then, try again without looking at your notes, unless you really cannot remember anything.
– Finally, practice without referring to your notes no matter what (even if you can’t remember)
Alternatively, you can sign up for our revision courses here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/.
Can U provide us with the ER for 0500 ON 16 plz plz ..
my exams are like 4 days away

In Physics I always have measurement errors as the answers on mark scheme do not match my readings… though my readings are very accurate…..can you help me solve this problem?
Hi Vedanti,
If you see the answers in the mark scheme always show the rounding to 2 significant figures, these are just the guidelines for correct 2 significant figures. The mark scheme has indicated:
“Answers are normally acceptable to any number of significant figures ? 2. Any exceptions to this general rule will be specified in the mark scheme. In general, accept numerical answers, which, if reduced to two significant figures, would be right.”
You can leave your answers in the way they are, if you do not want to round to 2 significant figures.
Dear IGCSE Team,
This question of mine is related to Information and Communication Technology(0417). In the final part of document production, it is asked to make sure that there are no widows or orphans in the document. So, if half a paragraph is on one page and the other half on the next page, should we insert a page break before the beginning of the paragraph or leave it as it is?
Thank you.
How many years of past papers should one solve to ensure an A* ?
Hi Vedanti,
You can always start with the latest past papers as they have new syllabus format and continue with the older ones date back from 5 to 10 years. Then, revise on the most common mistakes that you always seem to make. On top of that, you can also consider these A* online courses: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/
Thank you …..I have my ict practical exams tomorrow and then the written ones from 20th….can you plz give me some last minute tips to help me score better???
