I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Hi,
Do we need to write in full sentences when answering Chinese (second language) Listening , Reading and Writing questions paper?
How about Malay and English (second language) paper?
Please advise soon. Thank you.
Hi Jenny,
Do refer to the syllabus: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses to get a better idea of what is expected. You can also refer to the mark scheme of past exams: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/
hi guys , i need tips to start to study Economics igcse 455 how should i start can you give me tips cuz i will tale it in may june 2019
Hello Eyad,
We suggest that you develop data handling techniques. Familiarise yourself with the variety of forms in which economic data can be presented. Learn to interpret statistical tables, understand trends and relationship, and illustrate diagram, and analyse graphs.
Furthermore, always use the extract provided. Do not rely mainly on your general knowledge and understanding to answer some of these questions. While correct information may have been provided, it will not score any marks because the assessment objective is to make use of relevant information from the extract.
Lastly, practice, practice and practice. Answering past papers help and you can learn from the mark scheme. Download the past papers here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/
hi i have done may june 2018 exam in physics, chemistry and arabic first language and i have scored well but this year i am going to do may june 2019 in maths, ict, business, english and ict and i find it difficult also i am not good at memorizing where can i find good notes for ict and biology and how can i study plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz help idk why my level is going down
Hello Amr,
Start as early as possible. You can revise the subjects from the beginning. Highlight the important facts that you think could be on the test (you should refer to the latest syllabus on what is expected during exams here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/). You can then use the past exam papers (https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/) as your revision. Start with the latest papers as they have the newest syllabus format and continue with the older ones date back from 5 to 10 years. Then, revise on the most common mistakes that you always seem to make. Pay attention to the most common mistakes you always seem to make. Make notes and revise them, so you can avoid making the same mistakes in your actual exam.
You may purchase the A* Model Answers which shows the A* answers for the respective exam papers here: https://www.skolatis.com/igcse-exam-resources/
Lastly, DO NOT wait until the very last minute to do your revision. You may also consider our A* revision courses here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/
Hello,
I moved from American to British curriculum and I will do my IGCSE exams next year what would you recommend me to do, stay in the British curriculum or move back to American curriculum.
Thank you
Hello,
This depends on what you want to study in the future. We strongly suggest that you contact the university you want to attend and know their entry requirement.
I have a doubt of science subjects like lets take an example of Physics(0625). For MCQ the weightage is 30% so if a student gets 36/40 his percent will be 27%
For theory the weightage is 50% so if a student gets 74/80 his percent will be 46.25%
For ATP the weightage is 20% so if astudent gets 34/40 his percent will be 17%
so if we total this, the students percentage will be 90.25%
Now if the is extended his percentage will be shown on report card as 90.25%
But, if the student is core then what will be shown on report card 90.25% or less than that.
Hi Tirth,
For marking concerns, kindly contact CIE directly for this. You can write to them here: https://www.cie.org.uk
Alternatively, you may read more on the marking guideline here: https://www.skolatis.com/guide-to-the-marking-and-grading-process-of-exam-papers/
Please give reply
Hi Tirth,
We are not the exam board. CIE is the exam board. You can write to them directly and ask them about this matter. CIE?s website is https://www.cie.org.uk
Hi Tirth,
I personally am a igcse student and I my school also follows the same marking pattern ie: MCQ:THEORY:ATP
30%:50%:50%
hello,
can you please upload the past papers according to the topics
Hello,
Thank you for the suggestion. However, we only upload the past papers as it is.
any tips for environmental managment 0680
Hi Nathan,
One of the students shared this guideline for Environmental Management (0680),
1. You need to know the content by heart. Everything from the Lithosphere to the Biosphere should be embedded in your brain indefinitely. I used this book https://www.amazon.com/Environmental-Management-Core-Level-IGCSE/dp/0199151318 which is very comprehensive and I think it is one of the best books to exist for this particular subject.
2. Revise. Keep revising. You never know when you?re going forget one important detail. Often times in exams, we get questions from topics we neglected.
3. Past papers are your best friend. Practice, practice, practice. I cannot stress this point enough. Revise and practice- that should be your cycle.
4. Definitions. The Cambridge people are a big fan of catching you by surprise. And in a subject such as EM, you need to know how to define a concept concisely. Don?t neglect these.
5. Graphs and calculations. Brush up on your math, you will get a question related to math GUARANTEED.
Dear IGCSE Centre,
Thank you very much for your support! My finals are coming up, and i signed up for the tips program; however, I have not received. Please check. Also, what else should I do to improve my grades? How can I score better at English as a second language speaking?
Thank you again!
Hi Areeb,
Please check your spam box if you can?t receive our email.
You should start doing your revision based on the latest syllabus: (https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-surebjects-syllabuses) and practice with the latest past exam papers (https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/ ). Start with the latest paper as they have the newest syllabus format and continue with the older one date back from 5 to 10 years. Then, revise on the most common mistake you always seem to make.
You can also check out other resources we have:
Revision Course: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-revision-courses/
Exam Model Answers: https://www.skolatis.com/igcse-exam-resources/
Mark Your Paper: https://www.skolatis.com/mark-your-papers/
Here are also some Speaking tips for you:
1. Pick 3 or 4 practice exam questions that are different from each other (closest to what is expected in the latest syllabus). You can refer to the latest syllabus on what is expected during exams here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-subjects-syllabuses/.
2. Prepare answers to questions that are likely to come up
3. Find out how to pronounce the words and read them out loud.
4. Learn your answers by heart. Learn your answers one phrase or sentence at a time. Select a chunk and repeat it to yourself over and over until you?ve got it.
5. Understand and learn the questions. Look up any words you don?t know and learn to recognise keywords. Learn each question alongside the answer that goes with it.
6. Learn two or three idiomatic phrases or sayings and memorise them. Go for sayings that could be used to talk about any topic or topic-specific ones that you know you?ll be able to use in the exam.
7. Compile a list of topic-specific vocab that?s likely to come up. If you can, learn the gender of any nouns and the different tenses of any verbs. Learn the vocab so you can use and recognise it.
8. Get a parent or friend to do a mock exam with you. Pay attention to where you slip up and then work on improving those areas.
9. Make useful notes.
Lastly, practice, practice, and more practice.
