I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

Dear IGCSE Team,
Want your kind guidance on my grades.
What is the difference between actual marks and percentage uniform mark. Plus, how do grade thresholds released every session relate with grade obtained. I got 88% in Economics November 2018 session. According to percentage uniform mark, I deserve an A but according to the grade thresholds released every year, A* is achievable from 83%. Henceforth, I deserve an A*. What perspective should I consider. Please guide.
Hello Naman,
Percentage uniform mark (PUM) corresponds to the grades available (A*, A, B, C etc.) and gives students additional information about their performance. It shows your percentile, not the total mark achieved for the syllabus. It is a point on a common scale for all syllabuses to show whether the candidate?s performance is close to the top, middle or bottom of the grade.
Furthermore, every year, the exam questions have slight differences on the level of difficulty. As such in order to provide equivalent A* achieving chance, the threshold is updated every exam series.
When will the 2018 O/N paper be uploaded??
Hi Vanshi,
We?ve uploaded few Oct-Nov 2018 IGCSE papers. Kindly check it again.
Hi,
This is my first time navigating this website and I’m already impressed by the hard work you make! Keep it up!
I have a couple of questions and I wish they get answered as soon as possible, because my exams will be in June 2019.
First,
I’d like to know how many days after the results date past papers are usually distributed( for March, June and November). I can’t wait for November 2018 papers.
Second,
As you know, English As A Second Language (0510)’s syllabus changed and I’m so confused about writing a report. I have no idea of what Cambridge requires for the perfect report and lack some knowledge about it.
Please I need the answer as soon as possible.
Hi Ali,
Thank you for your kind words. We’re in the midst of uploading the 2018 Oct – Nov papers so please check our page from time to time.
According to the 2019 syllabus set by CIE (the exam board), question 6 would be to write a report, or a review or an article of approximately 100?150 words for Core and 150-words and for Extended, in response to a short stimulus. As such, there is no more fixed one format for this exercise. We suggest that you have to learn all formats: article, review, report.
But before you begin writing, decide if you?re going to write about the topic from two sides (for
and against) or from just one (your opinion). If you write a two-sided (balanced) piece of writing, remember to include your opinion in the last paragraph. If you want to write only from your own point of view, include it in the first paragraph.
Furthermore, try to think of your own ideas on the topic which match the task and include them in your writing. For each of the ideas included in your answer, support them with evidence or examples. Note, the examiner knows that the evidence or examples will be made up and doesn?t expect these to be correct.
Lastly, remember to organise your writing: include an introduction, a middle section and a
conclusion.

The revision course provides video tutorial, revision timetable, downloadable exam-style practices, common mistakes candidates make during the exams, and also examiners? advice. Our next revision course will be in March-April 2019. The registration will open one month before the revision course starts. We suggest that you subscribe to our newsletter so you won?t miss our announcement once the registration starts. HI, I wonder how I can get access to the past paper files if I have problems on Google Drive in China, do I need a VPN?
Thanks!
Hi Jane,
We are afraid you might need to use VPN as China has blocked all Google products.

Hello Amina,
We?ve uploaded few Oct-Nov 2018 IGCSE papers. Kindly check it again.
lets say i get 90 percent in computer science. and the a star is 84 then would the percentage uniform mark be 90 or would it be adjusted
Hello Martin,
Percentage uniform mark (PUM) corresponds to the grades available (A*, A, B, C etc.) and gives students additional information about their performance. It shows your percentile, not the total mark achieved for the syllabus. Hi Laarib,
Thank you for your kind words. We’ve uploaded some 2018 Oct – Nov papers and ICT (0417) papers are included.
Do you pass the exam if you achieve grade like F and G
Hi John,
The letter grades “F” and “G” are considered a pass. However, if you plan to further your studies, you must get the confirmation from respective school/college/university on this matter. Each school/college/university has its own entry requirement.
If I want to get 70/70 in math core do i have to get full or do I have to get 70 percent of the core paper marks for Example the total core paper marks is 160 so do I have to get 160/160 for the highest grade or do I have to get 112/160?
Hi Jayaditya,
Please refer to the grade threshold on how many marks are needed to earn Grade C.
