when is the october november papers coming?
Hi Ret,
We?ve uploaded few Oct-Nov 2018 IGCSE papers. Kindly check it again.
What is the relation between percentage uniform mark and actual marks and on which marks will I be graded. What is the relation of grade thresholds released each attempt with past papers with grading. I have just given my IGCSE Economics exam and I got 88 percentage. According to my result I got A grade as its below 90% but according to grade thresholds of oct nov 2018, 83% can bring an A*. What grade do I deserve.
Hello Naman,
Percentage uniform mark (PUM) corresponds to the grades available (A*, A, B, C etc.) and gives students additional information about their performance. It shows your percentile, not the total mark achieved for the syllabus. It is a point on a common scale for all syllabuses to show whether the candidate?s performance is close to the top, middle or bottom of the grade.
Furthermore, every year, the exam questions have slight differences on the level of difficulty. As such in order to provide equivalent A* achieving chance, the threshold is updated every exam series.
Dear Igcse centre team,
I was just wondering if it is possible to drop a language after mocks. And if not, How can i learn a language better?
Hello Collins,
If you are attached to a school, you must find out if this is allowed in the school rules & regulations. Each school has its own set of compulsory subjects.
Furthermore, if you have already registered for this subject, you may want to check with your exam centre if you could cancel the subject that you have registered.
As to learning language better, the most important things you need to do are: read a lot and write a lot. Try to read articles on that language on various topics which will likely come up to the exams. For example: Health, Tourism, Science and Technology etc. We can?t stress enough of ?read a lot?. By reading, you will gain tremendous knowledge on how to phrase your sentences, types of vocabulary, style, etc?
Besides reading, you ought to practise writing as well. You have to put to use what you have learnt.
please upload oct/nov 2018

Please Upload 2018 feb march papers
Hi John,
2018 Feb – March papers are uploaded.
The maximum grade in core tier is C(69) but if a person gets below 69 (for example 65) then are the marks going to be reduced? and if a person gets above 69 how many marks are deducted?
Hi Anjali,
All the subjects are graded according to the grade threshold. For example, if you scored 65 and the minimum grade threshold for C is 69 while the minimum grade threshold for D is 55, your syllabus grade falls under D.
Furthermore, there are many option codes because there are different paper combinations due to different administrative zones and Core/Extended syllabus. The grade threshold for the different option code will reflect the maximum achievable mark. As such, there is no deduction in grades.
For more information regarding the marking process, kindly read this article: https://www.skolatis.com/guide-to-the-marking-and-grading-process-of-exam-papers/
You can also refer to past papers https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/ for the previous grade threshold.
