I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

hey! i am attempting feb march 2020 rn…
so far i did well and im expecting A/A* in 5 subjects.
if i get 2 Bs and a D in my other 3 subjects will i still get a distinction?
people say if u get 5 A/A* and 2 subjects C or more u get distinction, but i think i may get a D in hindi… will i fall into merit even if i get 5 A*?
Hello Bruno,
If you did register for ICE during your exam registration and have fulfilled the requirements of the subjects, you will be placed in one of the three categories:
Distinction – Grade A or better in five subjects and grade C or better in two subjects.
Merit – Grade C or better in five subjects and grade F or better in two subjects.
Pass – Grade G or better in seven subjects.
You can read more here: https://www.skolatis.com/what-is-cambridge-ice/
If you did not register for ICE Award during the exam registrations, you will obtain separate IGCSE certificates.
i have applied for the ice certificate, so do i have a chance of getting a distinction? because according to this data u gave me, i shud get 5 A or better and 2 C or better, which i am sure about me doing. but i took a total of 8 subjects so if i get a D in one subject will i still get a distinction?
Hello Bruno,
As long as you fulfil the entry requirements for Cambridge ICE (passes in seven subjects, covering the five IGCSE subject groups and including two different languages), your seven best results, irrespective of subject or group, will be used to calculate your Cambridge ICE grade.
i have applied for ice. 6 A/A* and 1 B and 1 D is what i am expecting.
will i get a distinction?
Hi Bruno,
If you took more than the minimum of seven subjects required to qualify for ICE Award, your seven best results, irrespective of subject or group, will be used to calculate your Cambridge ICE grade.
Hey IGCSE,
I have some questions to ask relating to my upcoming Mathematics (0580) exam. Please be kind enough to answer them. Thank You.
1. Matrices has been taken out of our syllabus. But will they be included in the transformation questions (Transformation by matrices). Or will any Questions relating to matrices will come at all.
2. Is the new calculator ( fx-991ES PLUS 2nd edition) allowed in our exams.
3. Is a mechanical Pencil allowed.( i know this is not relevant but…..)
Hello Yunus,
Please read our answers below:
1. Matrices, some construction, and loci are removed from the syllabus content. Please kindly download the Specimen paper to see the new question format.
2. Due to the sheer number of different calculator models available worldwide, we cannot give specific details of which models or makes of calculators are permitted during exams.
Please read this article to understand better on what is allowed and what is not: https://www.skolatis.com/what-kind-of-calculator-is-acceptable-for-use-in-cambridge-igcse-mathematics-examinations/
3. You may use mechanical pencils when drawing diagrams or completing graphs while soft pencil (type B or HB) must be used for multiple choice tests.
Dear IGCSE Centre,
I am very thankful for your kind help posting papers.
Can you give some tips for getting marks in MCQ papers
Hello there,
Thank you so much for your kind words.
Here are some tips for you:
– Work through the paper carefully. Do not miss out any question for any reason – you may then start placing your answers in the wrong places.
– Do not attempt to look for any pattern or any lack of pattern in the answers. In other words, do not worry about how many questions have been answered A, B, C or D and do not worry about the distribution of As, Bs, Cs and Ds.
– Be confident in answering the questions. When you are well-prepared, confidence will follow.
Hello,
I would like to know if the new calculator Casio fx-991ES plus SECOND EDITION is allowed for our IGCSE maths and other exams in the coming May/June 2020 examination.
Thank You
Hello Clancy,
Due to the sheer number of different calculator models available worldwide, we cannot give specific details of which models or makes of calculators are permitted during exams.
Please read this article to understand better on what is allowed and what is not: https://www.skolatis.com/what-kind-of-calculator-is-acceptable-for-use-in-cambridge-igcse-mathematics-examinations/
For the final confirmation, get confirmation from your exam centre for permitted model. They are the ones who have the final say on what is permitted.
I have my Math exam on Monday and I was wondering from the new syllabus what type of questions will paper 4 have and where can I find the questions for the new syllabus as I can not find anything online and my textbook has no info.
How did the others find the math paper 22 as our whole class found it difficult.
Hello there,
We suggest that you download the Specimen paper here: https://www.skolatis.com/cambridge-igcse-past-exam-papers/ to familiarise with the new question format. Thank you.
are we allowed to use “log” for sums like: f(x)= 27 raise to x. So find f inverse x
as I wrote the answer in this form which is log x/log 27. can I write my final answer like this if “no” please comment on how to solve this sum
please answer the question as can’t subscribe or [pay for only a day
Hello Aagam,
Alternatively, you may want to download Examiner’s Report. You can study what are the needed points to gain marks. You could also learn the common mistakes candidates made during the exam.
Hope this helps.
Hello Aagam,
We believe our math examiners can help you with this one. Kindly subscribe to our AskTheExaminer programme to get detailed answers including step-by-step solution. For more information, kindly visit this page: https://www.skolatis.com/asktheexaminer-programme/
Dear IGCSE Team,
I’m giving my Boards currently in Feb-March series,
If in an answer, I require more space than given (if I’ve cut something before), and I annotate [refer down] and write below the dashed line, will my answer be counted?
Looking forward to a positive answer,
Thank you in advance!!
In the Chemistry(0620) 42 paper, which I had written about 2 days ago didn’t have a blank page so I had continued as written earlier; We were told so in our school code: IN441 “The Universal School Ghatkopar”
hey chemistry was easy right
Yes!!
Hello Abhijeet,
We strongly suggest for you not to go below the region. There is no penalty for going beyond the lines, however, you are risking your answers not fitting into the scanned screen. If this happens, you will lose marks as the examiners won’t be able to see your full answers.
i wanted to say one more thing that do we need to develop points in ICT subject in 8 and 12 mark answers. please help me as I can’t subscribe or pay for only one day
Hi there,
When answering the written paper, do not provide generic answers when the question requires in-depth answer. Provide response that relates to the scenario or content of the question. You must give more than a statement in your answer by expanding on the points made. Justification and discussion of the points is also essential.
In information and communication technology are we allowed to use the blank page for writing answers as it wasn’t acceptable in prelims and if yes is it enough to write “P.T.0 followed by blank page number”.
Hello there,
Yes, you may use the blank page provided. But please don’t forget to label it. If you properly labelled your answer, then the examiner would be able to follow it.
thanks
Hi there,
You are very much welcome.
