I’ve learned advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me!
“I am really enjoying Skolatis! It is very helpful. I feel that the way you teach the subjects are very helpful and aid in helping people learn more complicated things. For example I’m a lot ahead in chemistry and biology. I’ve learned many more advanced things much faster than a teacher could have taught me it. Skolatis has really helped me improve in chemistry and biology!”

for biology paper 11, what is the answer for the genetic question about red-eyed fly or orange-eyed fly?
and what’s the answer for the question about the nutrients making up the most dry mass?
the answer for the genetics question was that red eyed one is dominat
I think that red eyes flies were dominant and carbohydrates, proteins and fat make up most of the dry mass but I’m not 100% sure that’s what I put 🙂
i thought the orange eyed ones were more dominant…
no jack
think of it
lets change the example
tall allele is T and short one is t
if both parents are short that means they both have tt yes?
so
tt and tt
so all children are tt!
no other allele no other choice yeah?
ok now imagine both parents are tall
they may be Tt or TT yes? or maybe both TT TT or both Tt Tt
lets say they are both Tt
so
Tt and Tt
ull get TT and Tt and Tt and tt
here there are 3:1 tall:short
so there IS a probablity that children be short,,,,even though parents are tall
which shows tall is Dominant and short is recessive
now lets put this on the exam question…
they told u
if parents are orange then ALL children are orange
if parents are red then children may be orange or red..
here u go…
now u know why 🙂
its ok now forget about it
one mark wont make a change 😀
u have other exams dont worry about this!
genetic eye
“red one dominant”
i guess C or D not sure what it was
most dry mass
“fat carbs and protiens”
B
igcse team,
i was asking about English as an IGCSE subject. will literature and language be considered as separate subjects with separate grade and position in the IGCSE certificate, or they will be combined to be as a single subject which is english ??
looking forward for an answer
Hi Bani,
They are 2 separate subjects. Thus you get 2 separate certificates.
Hello people, I wanted to ask something. err, in many papers, I did this thing that I over-wrote. like after the space ended, just one or two words because I felt it wasn’t necessary to take the answer to the blank page for just a word. I did this in Bio 31. Will the examiners read it? i was informed they won’t…
Thanks.
they do as long as u’ve written just under the question … but it’s better to use the blank sheet or ask for an extra writing material
well dont worry, the examiners still read it!
ohhh thank you, I was so worried!! :’D
as long its within boundries…neat..and clear
noooooo problem 😉
Hi guys,
how did you find the spanish listening paper 12 and 42. I found it easy
also how did you find ICT. any doubts you would like to clarify.
how was mathematics 0580 paper 42?
was there one where u had to tick a piano in listening variant 2?
yes
Maths 0580 paper 42 was so hard. we didnt have enough time to complete or check all the questions again T_T
any one applying arabic as a first language here ???
me but y ?
need some tips i am really lost since the curve is too high for getting an A* you should get 90/100 which is way too difficult..
sara im not taking it
but my teacher used to tell me
try as much as possible to make sure u know spelling properly
like the words with hamza
hard ones
practice them
and try to summarize out loud bel logha el fos7a 🙂
good luck!
writing bel fos71 and spell words correctly! do you really look for A* ?! hey dania you are lucky for not taking Arabic as a 1st language buddy 🙂
shut up i was trying my best
no offense 🙁
its ok i meant it like a joke 🙂 hehe
i should have added one happy face to show im joking
it not that simple if ur talking about A* in Arabic as a 1st Language.
in Arabic there is nothing to learn or practice as all what we will write is two essays. but i can say the following
????? ??? ??? ??? ????? ? ??????? ???????? ???????? ? ????? ???????? ? ???? ?? ??? ?? ???? ???? ?? ???? ??????? ??????? ? ?????????
im a person who have learned the whole holy Quran, write poetry and very experienced in Arabic but still if A* id from 90 im not quite sure i can get it. i advice u to go to the marking sceme and see on what specifically they are looking for in your essays.
What are grade thresholds.
Basically it is,grade boundaries which shows you how many grades you need to achieve to get an A or an A*
A grade boundary is the minimum mark at which a letter grade can be achieved. For example, if the grade boundary for a B is 60 marks, then 60 is the minimum mark at which a B can be achieved. A mark of 59 would therefore be a C grade.
Reeya, they are that at what minimum mark will you score a certain grade in a component. You can check the grade thresholds for every year’s past paper. If threshold is low, it means there’s a greater range at which you can score an A. The threshold is decided by the examiners depending upon the difficulty level of the paper and how students attempted it.
So if you score 80 out of 100 it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll get an 80%
I wrote a huge amount of extra words (around 100) extra in my English language narrative writing.
Could I know the penalties for this blunder?
Thank you.
no penalty
not exactly just a mark or so wud b lost
but more like depends upon the examiner…
hey, the penalties usually depend on if your story could be ended without the extra 100 or if it needs to be finished. Most of the time examiners allow it and don’t penalize but this depends on whose marking your paper, if youll get penalized for it, it cant be above 3-5 marks
they stop reading at the extras
your makrs arent counted after exceeding word count
hi sallyy
that is only for the summery writing
i guess a small amount of marks are lost for u
not “no penalty” Fawwaz
if they did give u word limit u get penalized
but not sure how much
i hope its 1-2 marks only
now anyways
forget about it 🙂
and proceed to other exam 🙂
Well I am in Nigeria and I am writing October/November I got to know that there is no penalty for that
Maths paper 42: wow…the hardest paper ever!!!! seriously CIE ???
ICT paper 12: “is this even A PAPER ?”
Geography 12: the topic was about “population” then why you guys asked us about the LAND USE ??? SERIOUSLY CIE ? then how can we pass IGCSE this year ?
yeah… it’s true tho. Maths paper this year was so freaking hard… Why u treated us so bad CIE 🙁

580
math was ****
even i didnt understand why they brought land use in population it made no sense
let’s not get started with that maths paper
Don’t forget bio paper 3! 🙁
